Keynote Speaker

Dr. Kwong is Chief of the Structural Biology Section at the Vaccine Research Center, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Columbia University. He is internationally recognized for his work defining structural aspects of the HIV-1 envelope glycoproteins and their interactions with antibodies. For the last several years, his efforts have focused on applying the atomic-level tools of structural biology to the development of effective vaccines against HIV-1 and other viral pathogens.
