Research Opportunities

NRC Post-Doctoral Fellowships

My laboratory, in association with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is eligible to accept postdoctoral fellows funded by the National Research Council (NRC). NRC postdoctoral research fellowships are for two years and provide a generous stipend, as well as an allowance for travel and books.  U.S. Citizenship is required.

More information can be obtained at the NRC Research Associate Programs homepage.

Feodor-Lynen Forschungstipendien

As a former Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral fellow, I am now eligible to host German researchers interested in post-doctoral studies in my laboratory at CARB under the Feodor-Lynen Forschungstipendien program.

More information can be obtained at the Alexander von Humboldt website.

Doctoral Research Opportunities

Molecular and Cell Biology Program (University of Maryland)

Individuals interested in Ph.D. studies can work in my laboratory through our affiliation with the Molecular and Cell Biology Program (MOCB) program at the University of Maryland, College Park. More information can be obtained at the MOCB  website.

Strong candidate for these programs would have a degree in Chemistry, Physics or Biochemistry, a well-established publication record (postdocs), and an interest in using NMR and/or other biophysical techniques to study the relationship between structure and function in macromolecules.
