Special Seminar by Fluidic Analytics
Event Info
Event Details
Topics discussed:
- Why quantitative information on protein interactions is key to provide actionable insights on the potency of the immune response to SARS-CoV-2
- Understand the drawbacks of standard immunoassays such as ELISA tests
- Learn about the ability to assess the immune response of COVID-19 patients directly in minimally diluted serum by use of a novel in-solution immunoassay platform
- How our novel affinity-based virus-neutralization assays could track functional immunity and vaccine escape
Fluidic Analytics, a University of Cambridge (UK) spin-out company, provides a unique technology enabling protein characterisation, including measurements of size, concentration, as well as affinity of proteins and secondary molecules such as other proteins, DNAs, or lipids. Measurements are much more biologically relevant as can be performed fully in solution and in complex backgrounds such as cell lysates or serum/plasma. The technique requires only 5uL for a single measurement and proves to be particularly useful in the area of infectious diseases and immune profiling (antibody detection, affinity/antibody maturation, virus neutralisation, or cross-reactivity studies).
